Changes in blood pressure in the rainbow trout during hypoxia.

چکیده
The influence of hypoxia upon the heart rate and the rate and amplitude of breathing in the tench has been reported by Randall & Shelton (1963). Satchell (1961) demonstrated that dogfish respond to anoxia by decreasing heart rate, temporarily increasing dorsal aortic blood pressure and increasing the mean and pulse pressure in the ventral aorta. These fish were restrained and anaesthetized. In this investigation the effects of hypoxia on certain parameters of the breathing and circulatory system were measured. Methods of sampling water and blood afferent and efferent to the gills are described. These methods permit an investigation of these factors in the intact, unanaesthetized, unrestrained but confined rainbow trout.

Adrenergic control of venous capacitance during moderate hypoxia in the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss): role of neural and circulating catecholamines.
Central venous blood pressure (P(ven)) increases in response to hypoxia in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), but details on the control mechanisms of the venous vasculature during hypoxia have not been studied in fish. Basic cardiovascular variables including P(ven), dorsal aortic blood pressure, cardiac output, and heart rate were monitored in vivo during normoxia and moderate hypoxia (P(W)...
متن کاملThe effect of changes in blood oxygen-carrying capacity on ventilation volume in the rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri).
1. Changes in ventilation volume (Vg) of rainbow trout caused by hypercapnia, hypoxia and anaemia were measured directly by collection of expired water. 2. Exposure to hypercapnic water (PCO2 range 0.5-2 kPa) increased Vg (by up to four times) by augmenting ventilatory stroke volume; breathing frequency remained constant. O2 added to the inspired water in maintained hypercapnia reduced Vg at al...
متن کاملEffect of thermal stress on some hematological parameters of diploid and triploid Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Temperature fluctuation is one of the most common stressors during fish transportation and aquaculture condition. Triploid rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) get more attention because of its sterility. In this study, 24 rainbow trout belong to diploid and triploid group, average weight 13±0.23 g were subjected to temperature change from 13 to 20 ºC, and kept under tension for 10 min. Before a...
متن کاملComparison of some blood parameters of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) living in running and still water
The aim of this study was to compare some biochemical blood parameters of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) living in running or still waters. Some biochemical parameters of rainbow trout were examined, and the results were evaluated between sampling locations and according to seasonal changes. Healthy adult rainbow trout were caught from six different locations on the Bahçelik Dam Lake and t...
متن کاملInvestigation of changes in biochemical and blood parameters of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) for breeding in saline water
Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the compatibility of rainbow trout fish with biochemical and blood parameters in waters with a salinity range of 0-20 gram per liter order to allow the introduction and development of this species in different aquatic environments with different salinity levels. Baby fish from a cold water factory in Mazandaran province were transported to t...
